BeautiControl “Celebration” Re-Cap

I was able to attend BeautiControl’s Annual Conference, “Celebration” just last week. I was feeling a little off as I was preparing for my trip.  This could have been partially from my broken toe, or the lack of sleep, or who knows what.  As I tried to pack my bags, focusing on shoes first, then outfit, I became more and more excited.  Remembering that each time I go I have a renewed sense of possibilities, some much needed girlfriend time and refocus of my goals.

Bummer!

Bummer!

I love to people watch and this is the time and place to do it. I wish I was a little more bold in connecting with people so I could get a few “street style” photos so you can experience it too.  The beauty of it is there are so many different kinds of women (and men) who are a part of BeautiControl. And their reasons for connecting with this company are just as varied.

Lots of great information and of course amazing stories of inspiration but in the end it takes a little perspiration. Doesn’t anything that is important take work. Luckily this work is fun. One of my favorite things they do for us is give us gifts… so I some of the new product to play with right away and I did… Lighted Lip Shine and the Microderm Apeel

Lip Shine, lighted lip gloss!

Finishing up Photo a day June

I really should finish June since July is almost done. lol Only two more topics for this month. I was having some challenges with iPhoto uploading my July photos, but now everything is good. It was simple I just didn’t know it. 🙂 Oh well.

5. Sign  I was given this little sign with a big message to keep me inspired in my business. It’s fun and cute and well, I like the theme.

Sign – Dream Big

17. In your bag  Father’s Day gift.  I missed getting my dad’s gift photoed, bummer. This is what we gave hubby’s dad. Kinda a gag gift with sentimental value. I was given this weird “doll” before my hubby and I started dating.  Then I was invited to his family reunion in Yellow Stone. It was threatened that I would have to “camp”. (I don’t do camping well.) Luckily we were in “cabins”. Anyway, I decide to bring this silly doll along “Not a happy camper” and the person that was the most unhappy on the trip would have to wear it. Oh did I mention we drove with his family part way… Ends up Pa had to wear it a couple of time. I have a photo I can’t find of him wearing it. It’s really funny. When we got married it was buried in a box of “stuff”. I found it right before Father’s Day.  It made Pa laugh and remember that trip to Yellow Stone 14 years ago.

In your bag – Father’s Day gift

He also received this yummy wine:

Cupcake Wine – Red Velvet

AND we celebrated Mom’s Birthday with this yummy:

How did you celebrate Father’s Day?

Fashion – AZ Assist Switch & Ditch

I had the privilege to put on a Switch & Ditch fundraiser for AZ Assist a local (Arizona) nonprofit that assists young adults with autism and their families. It is impressive what they have been able to do for there clients with the little recognition they’ve received.

It was the largest Switch & Ditch to date. The ladies had a great time and were able to learn more about AZ Assist. I am still taken back on the amount of clothing that ends up being left over after all is said and done. It was all donated to Fresh Start Treasures. I love the win – win – win – win concept. 🙂 I think they are starting to get to know me over there as I have dropped off lots of goodies over the last year.

Here is a peak into the fun we had at Switch & Ditch…

Oh AND this is also a “photo a day” 2. Empty – Not. It looks like a store.

Faith – March Photo a Day – 20. Before & After

Today (March 20th) was Testimony Day at Mom’s on a Mission. I find it funny that the theme for today is Before & After. My dear friend Monica shared her story and it happens to be a before and after kind of story, a story of transformation. The whole morning was very emotional as the leadership team shared some before and after thoughts about what they were/are going through. Hearts really opened up and allowed for more sharing. The theme was Beautiful.

Here is one of the things the mom’s received as well as a mirror with “You are beautiful! Love God”

Before and After

I think I was really suppose to for the Istagram challenge post two photos as one, but I don’t know how to do that yet. 🙂

Here are more photos of the day.

Writing our promises

The mirrors were used so each mom could right God’s promise about her on it as she looks in the mirror. Example: I am beautiful for I am a child of God

Food – Ladies Who Lunch – In training

Had the privilege to lunch with a couple of my girlfriends the other day at Au Petit Four. It was so delightful. The food was wonderful and the conversation even better. As a moms we so appreciate the time and opportunity to have uninterrupted adult conversation. I think it’s important for mom’s to have girlfriend time.

Our youngest kiddos are about to enter preschool in the near future, so we were laughing that we were about to become “ladies who lunch” and this was just training. I like this kind of training.

We shared a selection of Nicoise salad, Smoked salmon sandwich, and Goat cheese quiche. YUMM! These girls know how to pick some good food. I was lucky to be lunching with some foodies. 🙂

Here’s a look at what we had.

Smoked Salmon on a FRESH baguette.

Salad

Quiche

Here's all the shared yummmies.

OH and by the way this is the March Photo a Day for day 21. Delicious How lucky did I get to have this topic the same day as lunch with friends.

How do you feel about lunching? Are you in training?

Food – Funky Freezer Girl Prep & Exchange

Friday I was able to meet with my wonder girlfriends in my Funky Freezer Girls meal exchange group.  I am soo blessed by them.  I love that I can spend a few hours making 10 of the same meal, meet with my group and walk away with 10 different meals to have in my freezer for future use. It has saved so much time and frustration for my family.

Not only is it a blessing to my family but the fellowship that comes from spending time with these incredible women. Each time we meet it is different.  Sometime we laugh with each other and sometime we cry or both (we are women).

This month I made the amazing Shredded Chicken and Bean Taco recipe that my friend Jen shared with me. Sooo easy and very yummy.

Here are some photos of the prep for this recipe…

These are all the ingredients I needed…

Getting ready

Setting up is important so everything goes as quickly and smoothly as possible

Labeling

Above it the “finished” product. Making sure it is labeled with everything one needs to know to make this dish.

Ready for the Freezer

Our group uses these pans for the exchange, so even though my meal was ziplocked I place them in here before freezing.

There you have it. This months exchange…
