Empty Shelf Challenge – March

I knew this challenge would be hard. I started with a bang and have been dragging the last month or so. BUT, I am still moving forward, inching maybe but moving forward. Here’s the latest I’ve finished.

The Blessed LIfe was a little harder for me to get through not because it’s a hard read but it worked on my heart along the way so I took my time in taking it all in.

The Blessed Life

And because I am a mom and read about 20-30 minutes each kid I will include all these Junie B. Jones books C boy and I have been reading since the new year. These books crack us up.

Junie B. Jones

I’m looking forward to the next book I’ve decided to re-read. I think it will help me keep on task.

Parenthood – Photo a Day – Kids

This month seems to be full of kid themed photos. I guess we just go with it. Here is day 4, 11, 16, 23, 25, 29.

4. Close-Up  Here is my Sweet P, up close and personal.

Close-Up of Sweet P

11. Door  This was the most interesting door I could come up with. This door is also one of the most popular in our house right now. There really is something tied to boys DNA that connect with truck, cars, engines and Ferrari’s, well in this house at least.

Door – Fire Truck

16. Out and About  This was a day that we were staying in. No out and about for us. Sweet P had decided at the time that he wanted to wear big boy pants and potty on the potty. He has at this point changed his mind. But this day this is what I was doing… the glamourous life of a mom.

No Out and About for this mom

23. Movement  There are very few places that have more movement than a kids birthday party. It was a fun filled Pirate Pool Party.

Movement – Pirate Pool Party

25. Something Cute  Of course I took a pic of my kid (and hubby). It was funny cause Sweet P and daddy were pretending to be asleep.

Something Cute – My boys

29. Soft  This handsome guy is so smart and strong, full of ideas and creations and all boy. Yet he has such a soft heart. He is well balanced between strong and soft. Love this kid so much. OH and by the way… this photo was taken right after he lost his first tooth. (Taken by daddy, edited by me.)

Soft – My Sweet boys heart

Parenthood – June Photo a Day – Mighty Mud Mania

Best bit of your weekend – Mighty Mud Mania

The Mighty Mud Mania has been organized in Arizona for years. My brother and I even went as kids. So as you can imagine the parent of 2 boys this a must do event. It is a free event so even thought my kiddos decided to stay in one place the whole time, sandcastle, trench making area, it was OK. They had a blast. Even with all the crowd we were able to find rockstar parking. (My husbands super hero ability) C Boy even found a friend from his soccer team there.

They decided not to participate in the obstacle course or some of the super muddy pits but did find a few water slides to go down and a sprinkler area. The fire department was even there spraying down the muddy people. I guess there is an adult course/area as well. You won’t be seeing me over there anytime soon.

My understanding is that this even is put on all over the country so if there is one near you go check it out especially if you have boys.

Parenthood – Photo a Day – Legos

My boys love Legos. I am not always a fan, especially when I step on them and they are ALL over the place. Oh and when I say my boys I mean ALL my boys, including my hubby. I married into Legos so they were in our home even before small ones.  I do love the creativity that comes from playing with them and the learning opportunities as well.

12. From a low angle One of C Boy’s creations.

From a low angle – Legos

Of course as soon as I started taking a photo of the Legos C Boy wanted to get even more creative and help me by setting up some shots. Then he decided he needed to help me edit them. Here is what we came up with.

Lego Fun 1

Super Lego Fun

22. From a high angle More Lego fun. As you can see those little pieces get everywhere…

From a high angle – Lego Play

Do you have Legos at your house?

May Photo a Day 23 & 26

I have been trying to “theme” the photos to make more cohesive content as I blog the photos, but it looks like the last two photos for May are going to be random. If you are actually counting the days of the month you may have noticed that one day is missing. For some reason I couldn’t get it to post. It was the 19th (a favorite place). My favorite place is Paris, France. The photo was taken by my husband. I wish I could show you. When I figure out how to make it post I’ll share it with you. In the mean time, here is the last of May.

23. Technology  I married into Apple/Mac. Hubby even calls himself iPat and the boys are mini and nano. lol.

Technology – Apple

26. 12 o’clock  Sweet P and I went to a 3rd Birthday party of a friend. It was Mickey Mouse themed. She did a crazy awesome job. Mickey shaped food, water bottles with Mickey on them, color theme (black, white red and polka dots), banners and more. I wish I could have gotten more photos but I was running after a silly 2 year old.

12 o’clock – Partying Birthday Style

Yeah, now I get to catch up on June. Have a wonderful day!

Family & Parenthood – May Photo a Day (7-10,12,15,20,21)

Striking a balance in my like has been a continuous challenge so here I am catching up.

7. Someone that inspires you  My boys. As much as they drive me of the deep end I truly look at them and want to be a better person & a better example.

Someone that inspires me – Sweet P and C boy.

8. A smell you adore  Really and truly only because the love of my life wears this and has  forever. I also like orange blossom and the way my boys smell right after a bath.

A Smell you adore…

9. Something you do everyday  Way to many to list. It was hard to narrow down… but these silly boys gave me the perfect inspiration. We might not get one in everyday but most days they get a bath.

Something you do every day – Bath time

10. A favorite word  Bedtime… need I say more. It was a rough week and bedtime is the sweet end to the day.

A favorite word – Bedtime

12. something that makes you happy  Yeah, like I said rough week… once again bedtime and laying my head on my pillow at the end of a long day.

something that makes you happy – sleep

15. Love  The snuggles of my wee boy. I wonder if he is trying to make up for the previous days… I just love when they need some snuggle from mom.

Love – snuggles from Sweet P

20. something you can’t live without  Ok so not something but someone. This man, my husband, best friend, love of my life.

Something you can’t live without – my man

Yes and these boys too. 🙂

21. where you stand  This is what Sweet P uses so he can reach. This day he “needs” to reach the blinds to make it dark in his room to play with the flashlight.

Where you stand – When you need to reach

Parenthood – April Photo a Day

Yes, my friends I am still catching up. I have no excuses just that I am a wife, mom and business woman that just plain and simple has a lot on my plate. Keeping up with the regular day to day just in one of those areas can be… well… you know. 🙂

28. 1pm  I even thought about the time several times as the day went on and still missed 1pm, but I got 2pm, which is 1pm in California… right?  This is what was happening. Sweet P was playing with a cup on our way home from a birthday party. They had a great time but missed quiet time.

1pm (in California) Sweet P.

30. Something that makes you sad   This is a “posed” photo but I think any parent would say when your child is sad or hurt your heart breaks. Just today Sweet P fell and bonked his side. Daddy was closer but he came looking for me with this little pout and “mama…”  Don’t these sad faces just make your heart break.

Something that makes you sad.

Parenthood – April Photo a Day

Sweet P has been really into drawing, coloring and creating. It was fun to create this little picture with him.  He saw me drawing and had to get in on it too. He helped pick the colors and did some beautiful swirls of color.

20. Something you drew – Happy Day…

Something you drew - Happy Day!

Do you create with your kiddos?

More about my boys and the fun we have.

12. Stairs  We don’t have stairs at our house and I didn’t go anywhere to find some. So here are some stairs we found.

Stairs - Batman Cave

13. Something you found  Here is my C boy with a something he found. He’s pretty proud of the find.

Something C Boy's found.

14. How you feel today  I started this day feeling grumpy. I think it had to do with boys being naughty and not listening. But by lunch I was feeling “Thumbs Up” with a snuggle from my big boy.

Feeling - Thumbs up

Parenthood – Generations

Relationships are so very important. Family can both a blessing and a well… you know. I want my boys to know their grandparents and build special on going relationships. My parents came to C boys soccer game and Sweet P was either trying to help his brother or wondering. He grabbed his papa’s hand and said, “come on.” They wondered over by the baseball fields. Not surprised, it is in the family.  Caught this precious moment.
